What mentorship involves

Offer useful experience without taking over someone else’s choices.

Start with one useful response

Uncüth Members create Requests for Access when they need perspective, knowledge, a resource, an introduction, or a little time. A Mentor may respond where their experience genuinely fits. You do not need to promise an ongoing relationship or solve the whole problem.

You stay in control of your time

  • Choose the topics and kinds of help you are comfortable offering.
  • Review relevant requests and decline or ignore any request without penalty.
  • Share only what you know, and say clearly when something is outside your experience.
  • End or pause a conversation when the fit, safety, or boundary no longer feels right.

Members stay in control of their choices

Mentorship is guidance, not authority. It does not guarantee a job, admission, investment, introduction, or outcome. Mentors must not pressure Members, seek dependency, exploit access, or turn a mentoring interaction into romantic, sexual, financial, political, religious, or commercial recruitment.

Safety and boundaries are part of the role

Before joining, read the Mentorship Policy. It covers anti-predatory conduct, privacy, conflicts of interest, off-platform contact, meetings, money, professional advice, reporting, and enforcement. The policy applies even though every Uncüth Member is an adult.

Eligibility

Mentor registration is 22+. Join uses an explicit, unchecked confirmation of age and agreement to the Terms of Service and Privacy Notice. Uncüth may review eligibility and may restrict or remove Mentor access for safety or policy violations.
